We get it. Dental treatment can feel scary, especially if you have had a bad experience in the past. But, it doesn’t have to be.
We are committed to helping our patients feel comfortable and cared for whenever they visit us. Many of our current patients who love coming in now were once afraid. We would love to help you become a formerly fearful patient who is happy to visit us, too.
Let’s work together to make it happen. Here is how:
Keep in mind that dentistry is more user friendly now. There have been many advances in our tools and techniques that allow us to keep you comfortable through whatever we do.
Remember that we care. No one wants you to have a bad experience and our team is dedicated to helping you feel safe and comfortable every step of the way. You are in good hands.
Let us know the specifics. When we know what bothers you most, we can be extra supportive at the right times and possibly work around things to make them easier.
Breathe deeply. Breathing exercises have been proven to help patients feel more calm. You might also try something like counting to take your mind off things.
Let your phone help. Bring a headset or ear buds so that you can listen to music or meditation apps on your phone.
Set aside fearful thoughts. When fearful thoughts come, imagine setting them off to the side. You can fill your mind with more positive thoughts by thinking about babies, puppies, kittens or someone you love.
Schedule wisely. Choose an appointment time when you will not be feeling rushed or dealing with extra stress.
Focus on the benefits. Think about the end results you are looking forward to: pain relief, better chewing, a dazzling smile, or being more healthy. Imagine how proud you will be of yourself when your treatment is complete.
Our Dr. Kaitlyn Nguyen is known for her gentle and compassionate nature as well as a meticulous attention to detail that ensures high quality dental care.
